Download and install Transmit if you haven't done so already and start the application by clicking on it's icon in the dock or by finding the application on your hard drive.

Navigate to the main menu bar at the top of your screen and select "Transmit" followed by "Preferences".

Click the icon at the top of the preferences window labelled "Network", then tick the box labelled "Passive Mode" and close the preferences window.

Now you're back to the main Transmit window. The window is split in two; on the left are your local files and on the right is the connection settings window. You need to provide transmit with all the appropriate information in order to connect to your web server and upload your files. You should have had all of your details emailed to you or sent with your invoice when you ordered your hosting account so make sure you have this information to hand.
In the text box labelled "Server", enter the domain name associated with your account without the www part,
for example, mydomain.com. Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields (remembering that
usernames and passwords are case sensitive), and making sure you are connected to the Internet, click the
"Connect" button.

Once connected, the files and folders on your web server will be listed in the right hand window, illustrated below.
Your web files need to be put into the htdocs folder, so before you upload anything, you must "Change
Working Directory". Simply double-click the htdocs folder in the right hand pane just as you would
within the Mac OS. Navigate to the files you wish to upload in the left hand pane listing your local files and simply
drag the icons for your local files from the left hand pane to the right hand pane. You will see your files appear on
the right as they are transfered.

Once you have uploaded all of your files, click the "Disconnect" button and quit Transmit.
